What is “The Little Black Dress Experiment” all about? Read the introduction here.

Do what you love, wear what you love and don’t let others discourage you from pursuing your dreams. Years ago I received a tape measure (this gift makes sense if you design stuff..hehe) as a gift and on the leather exterior it was embossed with the words “Think Big.” It still sits on my desk (when it isn’t being used) as a daily reminder and encouragement to continue pursuing my passion, fashion. I would encourage you to pursue your dream, whether it’s fashion or physics or something in between, because as we all learn more and more each day…we just have one life to live, so live it.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What is your passion, your dream?

LOCATION OF THE DAY: Home at the end of a 17 hours day in my Little Black Dress…still looks good. I am shocked that at the end of the day and after twenty five days of wearing the dress it still looks so great.

THE DRESS: “The Valerie Shift” designed by Elli Grace. Black cowl neck, sleeveless, knit dress.

WHERE TO BUY: Available online now at Elli Grace

PRICE: $150

MODEL: Deco Glamour

WHERE TO BUY: Available at MICHELE retailers include Neiman MarcusNordstrom and

PRICE: $3295 Deco Glamour Diamond, $100 Leopard Glitter Patent Leather Strap

ABOUT THE PIECE: The Deco style is one of the top seller’s for MICHELE. The Deco Glamour just seems like a perfect match for me, right? Bringing together two of my favorites MICHELE & Glamour. This month I’ll be pairing this watch head with a variety of straps from my strap wardrobe to showcase how changing the strap on your watch can change not just the look of the watch but often the look of the outfit as well. Strap the Leopard Glitter Patent Leather Strap.

HANDBAG: Michele Kylie Hobo

AOUT THE PIECE: This Kylie Hobo handbag, in Cuoio (pronounced “Coy-oh”) is the focal point of Michele’s Fall collection. You will see this bag on the cover of the upcoming Bloomingdale’s catalog and certainly on the arm of many fashionable ladies on the street as well. Price is $595

ABOUT THE PIECE: I bought this lightweight cotton Tory Burch shirtdress at Buffalo Exchange, about a year and a half ago for just $40. I paired it here with my LBD to add a casual flair for back to school.

SHOES: Xhiliration

ABOUT THE PIECE: I love this great gold flip flops. I have them in silver and gold and bought quite a few pairs for just $9.99 at Target last year. They are great to wear to the beach or pool when you don’t want to damage your nice sandals and with both a silver and a gold pair, they go with everything. They currently have this same style on end of summer clearance in bronze.

BELT: St. John- Brown with bronzed buckle

ABOUT THE PIECE: While accompanying my husband to San Antonio for business in January I got to indulge in one of my favorite past times, outlet shopping. We made a brief stop at the San Marcos outlets where I discovered a St. John outlet with Target prices. I’ll be wearing a number of pieces from that amazing shopping trip throughout the month. I picked up this very versatile belt for just $18, MSRP $145.

RING: Yellow Topaz

ABOUT THE PIECE: I picked up this fun faux topaz ring on Melrose last summer for about $30. If you get the chance to shop Melrose, I highly suggest it, there truly are so many great little boutiques with up and coming designers.

SUNGLASSES: Leopard Print Sunglasses by Michele

ABOUT THE PIECE: These great Flamingo Leopard Print Sunglasses are a great accessory for Fall with animal prints being so hot right now. The price point is $138. You can see they work great as a headband as well J

BRACELETS: Gold toned bangles

ABOUT THE PIECE: These bangles were part of a set I picked up at a fun Melrose boutique for just $9.99.

My passion and my dream are to help give all girls whom I teach achieve crazy confidence levels! Through my teaching I think, “Every child every day… some success some way”. Girls need that support, strength and encouragement to be confident women. In whatever they do they need to feel strong, positive and sure of themselves. That is my passion and my dream…

I am at such a good “season” of my life–good health, time to do things that I love–so I have a real passion to live life to the fullest. I think I can make others around me a little happier if I feel good about myself. I see this daily through my students. When I am happy and love life, I am able to help them have a vision for a future within their reach.

My passion is fashion also. I would love to be able to find a way to help others that feel they are needing help in this area. Feeling like you look good on the outside can boost how you feel inside.
