PHOTO LOCATION: Dallas, Texas – Pioneer Plaza

Hey Ya’ll – I’m Chevis English from Face Doctorette, which is a blog about beauty, style and healthy living. I have always been obsessed with clothes and putting different pieces together that most people wouldn’t combine so I couldn’t wait to participate in this experiment. The inspiration for my look came from the fabulous “Lexine” boot from Vince Camuto. I got these boots a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t wait to wear them. I paired my Little Black Dress from Ann Taylor with a chambray shirt from Topshop. I simply tied it up, threw on my boots and slathered on some shiny read lipstick et voilà. You can’t get more southern than that!

I grew up in the south and have always loved wearing overalls and cowboy boots, but I believe I’m a little too old for overalls these days! I feel like this look screams Texas but looks young and polished at the same time. I can’t wait to wear this out in the upcoming season but I will have to wait for the heat wave to subside.

What I’m Wearing

Dress: Ann Taylor “Little Black Dress.” I L.O.V.E. this store because everything is trendy yet classic at the same time. The pieces are great for work but transition easily for a night out with friends.

Boots: Vince Camuto “Lexine” boot. I got these boots a couple of weeks ago at Dillard’s and they are extremely comfortable, which is crucial for my flat feet. They can be worn two different ways – folded over like in the photo or flipped up above the knee.

Shirt: Chambray shirt from Topshop last fall.

Lipstick: Bare Escentuals Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Barcelona. These lipsticks are great because they stay on for literally hours and they don’t dry out your lips. I personally like to add a little shine to my lips so I ALWAYS add a gloss on top of any color I am wearing.

BLOGGER BIO: Chevis English is a public relations professional in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and principal blogger at Face Doctorette: Confessions of a Plastic Surgeon’s Daughter.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications at the University of Arkansas and her Master’s degree in Business Administration at Dallas Baptist University.

She currently works as account executive at Nunez PR and also does marketing for her father’s business, The English Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Center and Surgi-Spa.

Chevis founded Face Doctorette in 2009 to talk about beauty, style and healthy living. One of her favorite things to do as a little girl was to go up to her dad’s office to make her own make-up and dip her hands in the paraffin wax. She could also be found outside of aerobic classes trying to mimic all of her mom’s moves beginning at age 4. Even at such a young age, she had a passion for beauty products, health and all things fashion. The intentions for her blog are to talk about the things she loves, help others and get input and feedback from them in the process.

In her spare time you will find her cooking, working out, shopping, traveling, reading, relaxing with friends or hanging out with her dog, Sophie. Chevis also volunteers for Paws in the City.

She can be found on Twitter @chevis or on LinkedIn.
