PHOTO LOCATION: Burlington, Vermont

Hailing from Vermont (sometimes…when the weather’s nice), NYC (more often), and on a trip somewhere fun like Paris or London (as much as possible), I’m Lesley Scott, the Editor in Chief of Fashiontribes.com.

Let me count the ways I love this Ann Taylor LBD: #1…the pockets. I love-love-love a chic frock with pockets. And fabric is virtually seasonless, making it the perfect multi-tasker for my favorite pastime: travel. The cut and length are both classic & flattering, so just by changing your accessories and layers, it’s super-easy to dress up or down.

I’ve always loved the crispness of black & white – it always makes me think of Jackie O at her most iconic & stylish – but to keep things modern with this look, I added some fun pops of bright color with the watch and graffiti clutch. While this is well-suited for meetings, interviews, market appointments, Fashion Week events, and other fashion-related biz, a day-to-evening option would be to change into a pair of elegant black pumps, add some eyecatching bling and a fabulous Hermes scarf, and top it all off with stylish vintage cape or opera coat. And for more casual fall days, I plan to wear this LBD with cute flats, nubby tights, a snug denim jacket (with maybe a smattering of fun 80s pins), and a cheery print scarf looped around my neck.
